KERNIT Documentation
DOCX Upload
DOCX upload is the main Hyperlinker path. Upload a Word file, scan references, review risky matches, and apply links.
Primary Hyperlinker Path#
DOCX upload is the default path for the current KERNIT product. It preserves the manuscript as a Word document while KERNIT builds a reviewable map of citations, bibliography entries, DOI text, figures, tables, equations, sections, appendices, and other link targets.
| Stage | What KERNIT returns | What the reviewer does |
|---|---|---|
| Scan | Matches, targets, scanFingerprint, and scanToken. | Inspect unmatched, low-confidence, duplicate, and identity-changing rows. |
| Resolve | Optional DOI/title evidence for bibliography entries. | Accept link-only evidence or hold risky identity changes. |
| Apply | An editable DOCX with standard Word hyperlinks. | Download the final file and keep the decision payload for audit. |
Before Uploading#
- Use the final manuscript version when possible; scan and apply must operate on the same file state.
- Make sure captions and bibliography entries are present in the DOCX.
- For API workflows, store the scan token and fingerprint with the review session.
For citation and cross-reference linking, use DOCX Hyperlinker. For formatting from source text, use the formatter-era export pages under Export Formats.
