Reference Review

Reference review is the quality-control layer between detection and final DOCX output. It lets users approve, skip, retarget, or hold identity-changing resolver updates before links are written.

Review Statuses#

StatusMeaningAction
ReadyKERNIT has enough evidence to suggest a target.Review quickly or keep.
UnmatchedNo safe target was found.Retarget manually or skip.
Low confidenceEvidence is incomplete or conflicting.Inspect source text and target.
Identity changeResolver evidence may change author/title/year identity.Prefer link-only unless the reviewer confirms.
HeldKERNIT intentionally avoids an automatic rewrite.Review manually.

Reviewer Priority#

Start with unmatched and low-confidence rows, then check DOI resolver rows that affect visible reference identity, then scan the remaining ready rows.
